Manchester United are expected to enter talks with Brentford for striker Brian Mbemo

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is prioritising signing more attacking players this summer to bolster his attacking firepower.

The Old Trafford side scored just 44 goals in the Premier League last season, fifth from the bottom in the league, with big-money signings Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scoring just four and three goals respectively.

Wolves striker Mateus Cunha has reached an agreement with Manchester United and will complete his move to Old Trafford after the international break with Brazil.

Manchester United are confident of signing Cameroon international Mbemo, 25, who scored 20 goals for the Bees in the league last season, and there are signs they are their first choice for a transfer this summer.

It is understood that there is no release clause in Mbemo's contract, which currently expires in one year, but with the option to extend it for another year.

Like many key players, such as Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, he was not included in the national team's upcoming friendlies against Uganda and Equatorial Guinea.

Although Mbemo, who signed from French club Troyes in 2019, is not a natural No. 9, he is considered versatile, dynamic, powerful and fast, and Amorim wants flexible players.

It is understood that increasing reports that Bruno Fernandes rejected a huge offer from Saudi Professional League club Al Hilal will not affect any deal.
